Preventative Care

Dental Exam and consultation

A dental exam and consultation with one of our TGM Dental dentists is the first step to ensuring the health and well-being of your teeth and mouth. Regular dental check-ups allow problems to be addressed early, with less pain, cost and time. Our dentists will work with you to prepare the most convenient and cost-effective treatment plan.

At your first visit, we’ll ask you to fill out a patient history form. The dentist will use that information to prepare an individualized treatment plan for you. Please feel free to ask your dentist any questions you have about your oral health and dental care needs.

Oral Hygiene Instruction (OHI)

Our staff provides all our clients with tips and recommendations on caring for their teeth and how to brush their teeth properly, and basic knowledge on dental disease prevention, especially how to detect problems early to ensure timely treatment.

X-ray

The TGM Dental has the latest technologies and most advanced x-ray machines on site to effectively diagnose any oral health problem. Our staff can take an x-ray and develop the film within minutes for the dentist to analyze. Often, the recommended treatment can be performed at the very same clinic visit.

(*) You can bring x-ray films taken by your previous dentist within the past three months for our dentist to review.

Sealants

This is a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic “coating” is painted onto the surface of the teeth to prevent decay from forming on the biting surfaces. The coating or “seal” serves as a barrier that protects the enamel from plaque and acids.

All chidren and adults can benefit from sealants in the fight against tooth decay.

Preventative care with flouride treatment

This treatment contains a much higher level of fluoride than the amount found in toothpastes and mouth rinses. It can be done in various ways: a flouride varnish painted on the teeth; foam put into a mouth guard, which is applied to the teeth for one to four minutes; or a gel painted on or applied via a mouth guard.
